Life is great. God is good. So much has been going on. a month til Cambodia. my team is great. muscles are tensed. needing a hot bath and sauna. needing rest in my soul. needing rest physically. needing more spiritually. difficult and confused emotionally. needing more self-discipline. needing some alone time. wanting a tan. needing to exercise. needing to prepare myself. needing a job but the timing is wrong. sacrifice is needed.
thankful heart. thankful for my life. thankful for his grace. thankful for his mercy. thankful for my buddy. thankful for the people in my life. thankful for those i can do life together with. thankful that he is out to-get-her. thankful for the people who challenge me. thankful for joy. thankful for peace. thankful for the difficulties within the family. thankful for the family. thankful for the way life unravels and works itself out. thankful for technology. thankful for the word. thankful for wealth to eat and sleep in comfort. thankful for health. thankful that i'm still learning.
I love life <3
but there is more to life than just living life.
there is living in the truth which brings undescribable joy that just tops life altogether.

the perfect 10/10 day
10/10/10
what an amazing date for crazy things to happen!
On top of an amazing weekend from my church's youth conference, and experiencing the real definition of 'beautiful', something crazy happened.... on 10/10/10.
Our church goes out on weekly mission nights to the city and to Kings Cross every Thursday. We basically talk to people and just go to share the love and speak to randoms on the street. A few weeks ago, a few people from my church met a prostitute in Kings Cross and spoke to her about God. She wanted to know more and ended up coming to our morning service yesterday.
She had this steel bracelet on her wrist, which marks that shes a prostitute in Kings Cross which cannot be broken off or unlocked unless her pimp does so cos he has the key. She wanted to accept Christ for the first time yesterday after hearing the message spoken. The prostitute's name was Bonnie. Bonnie said she wanted to come out of the industry she was working in and wanted to receive prayer. A lady that came as a guest speaker, prayed for Bonnie, and then something crazy happened...
the metal bracelet just......BROKE OFF HER WRIST!
Upon hearing this, I couldn't believe my ears. (cos I went to the afternoon service, not the morning one).
I cannot believe a miracle happened like this. A few months ago, my friends and i were talking about miracles happening in America, but not in Sydney.
WELL IT HAPPENED.... AT OUR CHURCH... ON A NORMAL SUNDAY..... NO WAIT... IT WAS 10/10/10.....
woooooaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh I was so blown away, and I think our church was too.
I saw two brothers yesterday crying, and hugging and smiling and laughing and just in so much joy over what happened and how crazy God has been over this whole weekend!
The camp I went to, was also craaaazy. But too many things happened there that were just crazzzzzy too. So to sum up the camp, it was just plain... beautiful.
I wanted to write this down, so that I could look back on this and really reflect and remember how great and how CRAZY GOD CAN BE! wow.

A Perfect Day
Today was a perfect day.
I think its because I tried my first morning coffee which gave me a kick start.
I started the day with QT and had an awesome time with plenty of new revelations. Annie and I are accountabilabuddies from the spiritual maturity course - something I did at church. We stopped keeping each other accountable but after a long 2 hours on the phone last night at 11pm, we're back on track.
(+1 for renewed accountability)
We changed our cafe's coffee machine to a proper commercial use one. So the staff and I got training for it this morning. There is so much more to coffee than just... 'coffee'.
We learnt the history of coffee beans, the quality of coffee beans, the perfect temperature for it, the perfect foam for the milk, how to make patterns on the coffee, everything. All in a quick 2 hours.
Amazingly fun time and an amazing guy with a huge heart who taught us.
(another +1)
Drinking a half cup of latte and my own freshly made mocha really gave me a kick into my day. My first morning coffee.
(+1 for this new feeling towards a morning coffee)
Dad wants me to start work every Saturday mornings at the cafe instead of the newsagency. He's finally going to pay me!
(+1 for extra money in my pocket)
Doors seem to be opening for me to join praise team and I decided and discussed it with my mum today.
(+1)
Sorted some files out at uni today. I was so busy today that when I started my study, I was able to concentrate properly. Perhaps it was the coffee, who knows.
(HUGE +1)
Overall, today was such a satisfying day. I didn't meet any of my friends at all today, but it was just perfect. Haven't had one of these days in a really really long time.
Thank you
♥
Happy toenails for a happy day!

You raise me up
When I am down, and oh, my soul so weary
When troubles come, and my heart burdened be
and I am still and wait here in the silence
until you come, and sit awhile with me
You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains,
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas,
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders,
You raise me up, to more than I can be
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rkkw8RhH9ck
Just a song I started playing on the piano in the middle of eating dinner today.
It made me forget how hungry I was as I got consumed up in this song.
Amidst the ridiculous amount of uni work that I have gotten over the past 4 weeks, stresses and worries, this gave me pure peace, encouragement, strength, motivation, everything.
Forgot just how amazing this song was..

amazing weekend
hello blog
it looks as if i have neglected you for too long.
I spent an amazing weekend away at this camp site in wisemen's ferry where God was just plain epic, revealing a whole lot of snot filled faces, and tears of pain and happiness all at the same time, in a hall that was thick of warmth, not just cos of respiration and perspiration but also because there was so much love and His presence was just so real and thick.
I came home to check my email and in it, I found this:
"But now a righteousness from God, apart from law, has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus."
Romans 3:21-24
to me, this was a big summary of what I learnt at camp, and to see this in my email made me WOW. the words, and the timing of it left me speechless.
Started my semester at uni today. How time flies. Its already second year, second semester.
Over the holidays, I also did this make up course which was loads of fun but they taught us how to do make up but it turned out to be in a fob-ified sort of way.
This is my teacher and I, shes beautiful inside and out, and shes done make up on the past miss korea's and these celebrities before. she actually looks a lot younger and prettier in life.

After our second lesson, we went to take a formal family photo. And at the studio, we saw Younmee's family photo! They went to the same place! hahah

lazy day
Today was one of those days, you wake up late, and everything you do is just delayed and dragged on because its a lazy day.
I just got out of my pajamas an hour ago for a shower, even though i woke up a good 6+ hours beforehand.
I'm heading off to watch Toy Story 3 tonight in 3D with my church cell group :)
We're watching the 9:30pm session, which I've never ever done before so that should be exciting.
I had to absolutely beg my dad to let me go.. I think he's been watching too many murder news headlines that's made him super protective all so suddenly.
Apparently this will be the last time I can go out late at night..... but I have the "I heart uni" cruise which I have to go to on Friday so... :(
I went to watch the darling harbour FIFA game for Korea vs Uruguay.
OH SO CLOSE!

cute
Exam tomorrow 1:45pm
study knowledge of topic: 70%
emotions: oh dear.
My brother came in my room just then holding his shirt and a button.
Tim: Do you have some sticky tape or something?
Lisa: Um... why?
Tim: I want to sticky tape this here (he meant tape his button to his shirt)
I lol-ed and he asked why I was laughing with a smile wiped across his face...
I think he wanted to temporarily stick it there so that I could fix it tomorrow after my exam. How considerate. I fixed it then and there anyway :)
That's all, might hit the sack and enter my hsc study mode, ie: wake up at 3am and study. oh joy!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY YONGMIN MY LOVE <3
I'm raiding her house after not seeing her in 1.5 years and sleeping over to make up for our 1.5 years of missing memories after exams. yay :)

Things on my mind for the past few days/weeks
BLOG UPDATE:
just a few things on my mind
* SALE SALE SALE! <3 only went shopping for 1 hour - GP - $130 I got 2 bags, 3 shirts
* 1 John 1~17ish of chapter 2: answers I've been searching for
* cute/funny moment:
little boy at my rent's church bbq on Queen's birthday named Edward (4 yo) and his friend (also 4 yo) was lying on top of Louis (year 12 fob boy). Louis rolled Edward and his friend off. Edward must've landed on his chest or something and hurt himself. Edward started crying so I made Louis say sorry to him so he stopped crying. Edward's friend kept telling Edward to go to his mummy. Edward finally decided to stand up and leave. His friend followed him and just before leaving, turns around and says to Louis, "he was my friend" and walks off.Whist walking away, he kept turning back and eyeing Louis. He'll be gangsta one day. Funny thing is, the friend was a little fob kid with glasses and cute chubby cheeks. Where he learnt how to talk like that and give dirties, I don't know. Must be watching gangta movies or something. Louis and I were laughing for ages over it. Too cute - kids.
Another cute moment:
A little 3 year old girl at the bbq eating a mandarine looked up at me, and looked as if she was about to cry.
Lisa: What's wrong?
Girl: I ate the bone... (she now had tears in her eyes)
I looked at what she was eating, and what she meant was "I ate the seed"
hahaha, I told her it was a seed and that it was okay so she continued eating and running around
* bicentennial park on public holidays for a bbq = avoid; never go there, esp with the car. terrible traffic and car spaces. We parked at DFO and near the swimming pool
* forehead breakout
* "I want to be like a tree, planted by the streams of living water." with roots growing deep daily, integrated in every action/everyday
* study - feeling burnt.....and I start exams on friday - awesome.
* FIFA FEVER: need I say more?
- Park, absolutely adorable after the second goal in the South Korea game. He apparently practised that 'swimming' action for when we scores, making it even cuter.
- Socceroos = wish they were more than just looks :( ultimate anger at red card :(
- North Korea will fail hard. How can the worst team be versing such a good team on their first debut game? only reason they got in was cos of Park
- really should have studied..
* new computer, new speakers, new monitor (Y)
* new phone - Black Nokia E71. currently deep in love with phone and red nails.
- loving black, white, red photography/clothes/everything

feet fetish.
I found some shoes that i absolutely love love love! they were quite expensive but dont quite live up to their 'expensive' look.
Aaron bought them for me for my birthday present
(thank you thank you thank you <3)
and HERE THEY ARE!
observe and observe some more with even wider eyes!
but do not touch, as this may leave fingerprints on your screen :P

Oh and my body has officially rejected my belly piercing. Here's a picture..

"I <3 Billy" shoes
The ones above come about midway up the calf and kind look like cool laced gumboots when worn with jeans. hecticcccccccck. cos yes, now i dont need to buy gumboots! 8)

"Lilimill" shoes
These were the hella expensive ones that dont look up to its standards.
Reason of expense? They're "Made In Italy" and real authentic leather...which i guess is not so bad for its price then :)
sucks cos it means i can never get them wet.
but they are amazing and i love love love love love them! <3
tyty :)
This is a picture taken from birds eye view looking down on the belly from the top, so that pink shiny ribbon on the top of the photo are the draw strings of my pj pants.
The pink on the skin, is where the belly pierce used to exist. It kept healing and healing behind the ring, and eventually has spat out the ring. It fell off in the shower. The bit of skin that used to hold the ring in place is still attached on the ring.
PS: you can even still see the semi-circle of where the ring used to be, dented into the skin.
TRIPPY OR WHAT?
who needs a bit of a laugh past all this stress? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p32OC97aNqc hehe saw it on a friend's fb link :)
LOL at the old man and security guards! this gave me a full 4 minutes of laughter :)
enjoy

hello saturday means hello unproductive day
hello unproductive day. you fully deserve the label FML.
this is exactly how much work I've done in the span of 15 hours, ie the whole day.
I have had this weird obsession with facebook all day today for some strange reason. I think I like to either stalk people, look back at old photos and friends or perhaps its just the peculiar reactions of the female human body that is being influenced by the unpredictability of my emotional turmoil via things called hormones that sparks this kind of behaviour when something, colloquially termed 'rags' has come to visit.
I've locked myself in my room, didnt go to any events today which involved a bbq, birthday dinner and a birthday clubbing event. why? to do that supposed thing which kids our age are supposed to be doing, aka "study" (and partly because I really couldn't be bothered)
I should've just gone out, that way I'd feel guilty for going out and probably would have done a lot more work than what I actually achieved today.
I'm thinking of writing a personal diary by hand everyday, like a journal. Apparently it helps with the memory function which would then increase my ability of memorising things for my special study technique - procrastination. or not... I really cannot be bothered. I've written a heck of a lot of journals/diaries before. I think I started 5 different ones so far for sure. After a few months, they were never to be seen again, or I just stopped writing in them.
The most recent one I wrote was during high school. I giggled reading through the entries. A few consisted of the typical 'girl' entries: "so theres this boy... blah blah.... he seems interesting blah blah......ITHINKIREALLYLIKEHIMANDHEISSODAMNAWESOMEANDICANTSEEMTOWRITETHISINTOASENTENCEINCASEISOUNDLIKEASUPERFREAKSOIMJUSTNOTGOINGTOMENTIONTHISATALL" which is what I was probably thinking as I wrote those instead of writing in plain words like that.
I think I could pass as a person with ADD or ADHD during these times of the month. I can't concentrate, seem to want to talk like a never ending nut, can't keep still and just want to run around and scream or something. I am a bit weird like that from time to time.
I am failing a few subjects at uni. Well, failed a few assessments anyway. Whoever made second year so damn hard in retrospect to first year should go back to his/her naughty corner and rethink about the difficulty of this course. It's killing my social life, and I feel that the only friends I ever see now are my super nerds who study so much and have traded their social lives for good marks of 75+ to have the hope in getting into medicine. THESE PEOPLE ARE INSANE! HOW DO THEY DO IT? i dont even have a hobby anymore because I have no time for it, not that i actually remember having one hehe.
I wish I lived on campus and did a less demanding course, or went to high school in my area. My friends live too far away to just drop by and say hello for 5 minutes. I really miss being able to do that with yongmin.
This is probably going to be the last long pointless blog I will write before my final exams finish.
PS: new house is looking good. bricks have all been laid. The structure of the roof has been mounted with wood planks, ready for the tiles and whatever else needs to fill up the roof. Due to some builder's accidental misconception of the drawing, my room now has a bigger balcony and supposedly I have the best room. weeeeeee.
'Wee' reminds me of the time I went to the beach with Andy, Leanne, Jasmine, Ryan and Alan and everytime a wave came, Jas would say "wee". EVERY SINGLE WAVE. LOL. such fun times.
this is exactly how much work I've done in the span of 15 hours, ie the whole day.
If you measure that out, it's not even a quarter of a page. Most of which i wrote from the times 7pm-11pm.

lovin the fambam
I'm slowly learning of how much I actually love my brother, mother and father.
Tim came home today after work, stressed.
Had a big conversation with him and I realised how cute my brother actually is. I wish I could've gotten him on tape! (I had a mock customer/shop keeper conversation with him and he actually treated me like a customer which was too cute)
After an hour, he calmed down and relaxed. I put my pandora bracelet on him and took a photo.
I asked him if he wanted to see the photo and he said no.
No matter how little I thought of him as a brother, he actually has got to be one of the greatest brothers on earth. I'm sure if i asked him if I could put nail polish or makeup on him, he'd let me. hehehe
I wanted to hug him so much, but it'd be too awkward so I didn't.
I love him.

I wanted to hug him so much, but it'd be too awkward so I didn't.
I love him.
how can you not find these two luvos so cute!

oh happy day
I WATCHED IRON MAN 2 YESTERDAY AND IT WAS SERIOUSLY AMAAAAAZING!
(personally wasnt TOO fond of watching it, but i did and i am so glad i did!)
I went in the cinemas not knowing ANYTHING about iron man. i thought it was that marathon competition, or that nutrigrain ad. those were the only 'iron man' related things that popped into my mind. That being said, i loved the movie, and I think that says something. Totes a recommended action movie. WARNING: contains dry, witty humour. be prepared :D
Decorated the house like a crazy nutcase for a surprise 'mothers day'. Rents were coming back from their 25th wedding anniversary trip from New Caledonia today, so I wanted to surprise them.
Turns out they scared me instead.
Their flight was delayed by 3 hours which scared the bazookas outa me.
Why was today a happy day? I caught a lady picking her nose in her car at a red light. I dont think she knew i could see her through her window too..... This made my day. LOL
I am currently nodding away to sleep every few minutes even as i write this. That's embarrassing.

update!
it was my birthday over the weekend which was a memorable one.
Woke up early enough to see the bright bright sunrise :)
had a fun night out at flow on friday night with a few intuition girls and a few other boys who were very spontaneously invited.
then had a small bbq at my place on saturday surrounded by loving friends (including peter who dropped by, even if it was for 10minutes)
Here are some of the awesomely unexpected presents I received.
Make up from Wendy, Lily and Charles
A pandora bracelet from the intuition girls.
and this seriously awesome leather look-a-like stussy jacket from Jasmine and Peter.
This seriously awesome "Napolean Cake" baked by Will.
It's made of pastry, cream, strawberries and chocolate. It looked good and tasted even better. Everyone was shotgunning for double slices and that never happens.
Thank you all, although Jas is the one who really knows about this blog out of everyone above haha. Thanks babe :)
Today was Charles' birthday, and Will, once again, baked him a cake also. 100 points for who can guess what it's supposed to look like! It actually tasted really good, it was a chocolate vanilla marble cake. mmmmm!
Pictures say a thousand words, so here are some photos to show you what I've been up to at uni cos that is where my life is at.
This is the bacteria that I pulled out of my nose and let it grow over the past 8 weeks. I've confirmed which bacteria it is which is AWESOME. so for those nose pickers who eat those bits of gold, this is the stuff you're eating!
This is in physiology where we're learning about the heart and heart beats. Stethoscopes are pretty damn cool. You can whisper to it really quietly near it and you can hear it all! I bet it would totally work for eavesdropping through doors haha.
Bought this cheap but cool looking sloppy joe from this shop in bondi. It is now my favourite shirt!
Woke up early enough to see the bright bright sunrise :)

food, food, brothel?
Fail dinner last night.
went to the restaurant and realised we forgot to book before we came... i forgot just how popular it was.
Drove around for ages thinking of where to eat.
Theres this Brazillian place in Bondi called Copacabana but that place was closed.
So we resorted to the Noble Court Chinese Restaurant in Bondi.
It sucked cos the first time i ever dressed up a little for dinner with family, turned out to be a wreck. (I even dressed to suit the dim light spanish restaurant theme, and ended up eating at a bright lit restaurant with nice white table cloths and gentle quiet music -0-)
Whilst we were walking to the Spanish, my mother saw this cute little cosy house thing with some sign on it. She said "I wonder what kind of food they sell here..." and started walking up to the door. I grabbed her quickly and told her that "restaurant" didnt sell food and that it was a brothel. My mother was quite shocked. hahahah (before you judge me, i only knew it was a brothel cos someone told me when we walked past it last time!)
For brunch today, we dipped outside cos downstairs at the bondi markets is some global festival thing going on with multicultural food, music and dances. Ate some Turkish, Lebanese and Spanish (turns out dad really wanted to try spanish last night haha)

this bulk of a blog that came word vomitting out.
So it turns out that uni seems to shoot at us a never ending chain of exams that never ends. yes i didnt have to write the last bit of that sentence but i did to accentuate the never never ending long chain on exams we get.
Sat my final midsem exam -- physiology, and found out we have another prac exam next week for biochemistry. The week after that, we have another quiz exam for biochem yet again.
this just never ends...
I walked into my new room today, or at least what's been made of it. Its pretty much a big slab of smoothed concrete with a pipe sticking out for the toilet. Its pretty cool, they've put the bricks up around the sides on the first floor and built the stairs and upper level too. we're just waiting on the bricks to rise up on the second floor and the rest of the house to be built. exciting.
from my rent's veranda, you can even see the "UNSW" sign on the uni library.
since i'll be living so close to uni soon, i'm thinking of riding a bike to uni everyday, to build up those dream thighs every girl wishes for, and just because bikes are cool 8)
i really would like to ride/own a scooter/motor bike. i think where i live has a heavy responsibility for this influence which made me realise where you live, really DOES mould you in one way or another, even without you realising it.
also, i've been looking around those korean websites for those emo boots that they sell at wanted. I've really been wanting a pair since sometime mid/late last year but just never found a shop that sold em.
Turns out this small shop in bondi just outside sells a cool pvc/shiny pair in mauve, black or red for $200.
Still can't find the perfect pair of boots however. Still looking.
Our family is going out for spanish tonight. We havent had a family dinner in so long, and its quite rare seeing as we're all so busy at such different times. Should be fun. Did you know Churro's and sangria originated from Spain?
I also just got an email from uni and looks like for my elective next year, theres this cool one about learning about the 'land' in broken hill for 2 weeks and creating a creative project for 6 weeks, and its run by COFA. Its running during the july holidays which would be perfect and costs $500 because of accommodation, transport etc to and from broken hill. Thinking of taking this up after some discussion with rents. Should be interesting.
I dont know whether Peter still reads my blogs but HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO PETER!

The Book of Eli
its been a hectic week or two, filled with midsems and such.
absolutely ruined them all which is none but my fault considering I hadn't studied all semester, and so intelligently, decided to cram 5 weeks of uni for 4 different subjects into one week.
didn't quite work as well as i had hoped.
I watched "The Book of Eli" at the movies yesterday with Aaron. It was a really spontaneous decision cos we were going to grab a bite and go home, but ended up watching a movie instead.
We went in knowing absolutely nothing about it, and came out wow-ed. It was awesome. Unpredictable, with a slight twist to it. Touching, and encouraging on so many levels. Especially for my faith and the physical drive to study, for my future to name a few.
Theres this korean 21 year old boy in my course, and I just learnt that his korean name is EXACTLY THE SAME (except for one letter) as my name.
My korean name is lee min joo 이민주 and his is lee min jun 이민준. spelt in korean it only differs by one small character which i thought was really trippy!
A 4 year old baby, her 11 year old sister and her family came over for dinner yesterday. Say hello to the cutest korean baby alive. How mesmerising her huge big black eyes were...wow

rarara
hair is now a changed colour. got it dyed from this 'school of hair dressers' on tuesday.
it was supposed to be 'ash brown' - a light browny grey colour..
but i didnt want to use bleach so it turn out.... ORANGE -0-
disgustingly ridiculously ugly orange T.T
now thinking of getting white/grey highlights that will make my hair look 'grey brown' not orange..
the hairdresser was quite cool 8) heres a pic (no i didnt pose.. just a natural shot.. :P)
yesterday i realised my seriously crazy lip healing lip balm was expired by a month... so i decided to clean it out to use the case as a lotion container for camps and things like that..
I stirred it up with used post its and drew a lovely artistic 'BALM tree' get it, hahaha not palm, but balm cos its lip balm :P
after finishing, i noticed the container had a crack....
waste of time. ehh

a normal day at uni.....?
Sunshine and humidity for one week, rain and wind this week.
awesome weather us sydney-siders have.
It's been quite chaotic for the past week.
A week full of assignments, exams and all nighters, that ended with a relaxing weekend at the beach has totally screwed my study and sleep pattern.
so thank GOODNESS we have the seriously awesome easter break coming up!
but what comes with uni breaks are a bombardment with parties and outings.
all of which i want to go but not at the same time..
Yesterday at uni during out phys lab, we tested out our blood types.
Before we started the lab, we had to answer questions such as these..
We pricked out fingers and squeezed out some blood and mixed it with some chemicals..
We were going to then test someone's urine for heaps of things but the fire alarm went off and we all had to evacuate.
Thinking it was a fire drill we left, but at the entrance we were greeted with 3 huge fire trucks, 5 police cars including a massive police van and a whole lot of police officers/firemen.
Overall, an interesting day.
I then headed off to dinner to Churassco which is a Brazillian buffet for a friend's birthday. We had continual servings of meat served to us over and over again for 2 hours. it was epic, but when i got home, my fun ended with a massive stomach pain and diarrhea.

This was my friend's blood test. Blood type A. Notice the blood clotting in Anti A.
This was my blood test, blood type O. (see how theres no blood clotting with the chemicals? thats what makes us such awesome universal donors ;)
