mountains mountains mountains! need i say more?

It's been a good one week since i got back from new zealand, and boy was the scenery amazing!
we stayed in this hotel that sat right across from the mountains, which was in the heart of the city.
i never knew mountains could be so damn....breathtaking! and i never knew how seriously beautiful they could also look. it was weird, but good weird.
this is a shot that i took from the plane above the land of nz :)

Once we landed, we went shopping for groceries and such, and i realised everything in nz is so damn big! all these beverages that are in sydney were seriously massive.

i didnt get pictures of all of them, but heres redbull. the middle can is the biggest one that i've seen in syd, but nz has a bigger on, 473mL.. thats almost half a litre! -0-

That night, we went on a gondola, which was like a cable car thing that took us to the top of the mountain, and took a few shots here. we just caught the start of the sunset :)

The next day we went down to Milford Sound, which is this place full of mountains, literally. Just purely mountains and waterfalls and small rivers here and there. 

On the way there, we passed heaps of mountains (as expected), and came across a set of clouds that got lost from their crowd, and were hanging low in the midst of the mountains.

After a 4hour drive to Milford Sound, this is what we had come to see.. doesn't look like much, but it was extraordinarily breathtaking in real life

we then went on a boat to explore....yep you guessed it, the mountains of Milford Sound. haha my rents are so damn cute :)

Underneath one of the waterfalls that we came across on the cruise, there were two rainbows formed by the water falling down the rocks :) twas epic

Once our cruise ended, we drove back and saw this stream that came from the mountains. We hopped out of the car and went down under the bridge that all the cars drove on. We all got excited like little kids, so we took our shoes and socks off and played around in the water for a while, but it was freezing - melted ice water. Someone on the cruise told us that if you fell into this water, you'd survive for 30mins if you were lucky.....

On the way back, we passed a small village that we drove into, which was situated in the middle of nowhere near the mountains, and no single house had a mailbox in front of it.... the reason? cos they were all placed at the front, on the edge of the cliff-ish area. interesting.

This was the view we had from our hotel we were staying at. Where the sky, the mountains, and the water collide, accessorised by the sun, ducks, trees and clouds. this actually made my jaw drop like this ---> :O

During the day, people come by the water and tan. This is like their 'beach'. What they're sitting on, may look like towels on sand, but are actually small pebbles and rocks. It actually sort of hurts to walk on them with bare feet, i dont know how they lie down on them... o.O

And as we swim with seagulls at sydney beaches, queenstown new zealanders swim with ducks..... these ducks actually swim in the water WITH these humans cos theres no waves to push them away.... swimming with duck feathers that may have lice, and duck poo...*shudder*

 I haven't put any pictures of my brother up yet, so heres one :) We did actually ride this. We weaved in and out of caves and mountains on this thing. Felt like we were entering a whole new different world, it was also, amazing.

On the drive down to the southest part that you can get to on land (this place was called Bluff), we passed green meadows with sheep grazing on the grass! (I literally thought this was only real in nursery rhymes and cartoons, but nope, it actually is real! and it really was quite a sight!)

To finish off, this was a plane picture that i took of the clouds on the way to sydney. I never knew that clouds could look so...crispy and..white! I swear the sun was reflecting off the water droplets within the clouds, that i was actually getting burnt by them inside the plane!

Believe it or not, this was a really really brief account of the things we did/see over there.    I sure wish we went during the winter season instead of during the summer - the scenery would have been so so so much more amazing!
